Traditional methods of IT architecture management are no longer capable of meeting the increased expectations of corporate business units in regards to implementation speed and budgets. In particular multi-divisional corporations are increasingly relying on the Enterprise Architecture (EA) concept, which helps them meet growth objectives through the fast adaptation and implementation of strategic and innovative business processes. Many Fortune 1,000 companies are already making use of EAs to enhance internal transparency of business processes and their development and of IT architecture dependencies. At the same time, EAs define the framework conditions for optimal use of business processes and their seamless integration.
Detecon and TOGAF - Methods for Success
As the link between business and IT strategy, the enterprise architecture outlines the framework for IT solutions. The EA describes IT structures, standards, processes and shared corporate services. The task of an EA is to support the business areas and IT experts in shared planning processes and in the comprehensive further development of the IT architecture. Detecon decided to use TOGAF from Open Group as an open and widely accepted standard as basis for our architecture work. A comprehensive experience from successful projects at customers with different size and industry demonstrates the benefits of that strong methodology. Based on TOGAF basic structures, Detecon enhanced the methodology in different areas, e.g. the finance and controlling, business cases, governance or SOA migration strategy, and applies those successfully.
Detecon trains architects in the TOGAF framework with the following goals:

As a certified training provider, Detecon offers TOGAF training in English and German. Participants are able to earn their own official Open Group certification.
Integral Methodology
The core element of TOGAF is the ADM (Architecture Development Method). This is an interactive process for the development and implementation management of comprehensive IT architectures on the basis of demands and innovations. TOGAF's Architecture Development Method is complemented by the concept of a central repository for reference architectures, all of the results of the architectural work and by a resource database including tools and by templates that can be used.
As a member of The Open Group, Detecon offers German- and English-language TOGAF training leading to official certification by The Open Group. The training is offered in various forms.
Training Program

- Four-day, on-site training featuring comprehensive examples from Detecon architecture projects.
- The goal of this training is certification.
TOGAF training and workshop with individual assignments
- Individual workshop series in which each participant not only receives support in knowledge acquisition but also in solving concrete issues.
- The goal of this training is certification and solution development.
