The Open Group is the home for the OpenPegasus project,
which is an open source implementation of the DMTF CIM/WBEM
management standards. The project arose from work in
The Open Group's Enterprise Management Forum, and has evolved
into a major open source project used in their own products
by many companies. The OpenPegasus project is funded
by a group of companies who make up the Steering Committee.
The Open Group provides a neutral, independent,
environment in which companies can collaborate, free
of anti-trust concerns.
The Open Group provides a variety of
services associated with the OpenPegasus project, including
the source management repository and bug tracking facility,
and electronic communication and collaboration mechanisms.
The Open Group also provides both technical and administrative
management to the project.
