This is the Cloud Computing Work Group collaboration page. It is the central point for The Open Group work on Cloud Computing. The Cloud Computing Work Group is a work group of the Open Platform 3.0 Forum.

The Work Group

The Open Group Cloud Computing Work Group exists to create a common understanding among buyers and suppliers of how enterprises of all sizes and scales of operation can include Cloud Computing technology in a safe and secure way in their architectures to realize its significant cost, scalability and agility benefits. It includes some of the industry’s leading cloud providers and end-user organizations, collaborating on standard models and frameworks aimed at eliminating vendor lock-in for enterprises looking to benefit from cloud products and services.

Projects

Our work is mainly conducted by project teams. Each project has its own Plato page. Project materials are also often developed on the Cloud Work Group wiki. Project materials are usually available to members only. If you are interested in the work of a project, write to its co-chairs. You can find their names, with e-mail links, on the project Plato pages.

The Work Group currently has just one project in progress.

Join the Work Group

To join the Cloud Computing Work Group, your company must be a member of The Open Group with Open Platform 3.0™ entitlement. Log in to our collaboration portal and look at the Forums section. This will tell you whether you have entitlement to join the Open Platform 3.0 activity. If you do, you can join the Forum by clicking its Click here to join link. You can then join the Cloud Computing Work group by subscribing to the cloud-wg list on the Open Platform 3.0 Mailing Lists page. Joining the work group enables you to see its working documents and to contribute to its work. There is no obligation to contribute if you do not wish to do so.

If you are interested in our work, but your company is not a member of The Open Group with Open Platform 3.0™ entitlement, you can join the Cloudsters Interest Group. You can then find out more about what the work group is doing, ask questions, make comments, and join discussions with other interested parties.
